Most of the artworks from “Art We Crave” are black and white, however, as every person and they home, your artwork can look different. This same goes for frames. In order to find the perfect frame match for your artwork, you need to consider three main ingredients: artwork, frame, and placement.* If you are not interested in learning skip to the end of this article, I will display a couple of art frame recommendations that you can be sure you will be safe with.
Some of my artworks are more minimalistic other ones are more complex because of that they have a different visual weight to it. Be aware of what should be the visual weight of the frame. Less detailed artwork without paper mat will preferably have a darker color of the frame and the lighter color of the frame for more complex artworks.
There are four types of sizes that you can purchase at Art We Crave. Based on those sizes you can also decide how you will be framing your artwork. If your artwork is a smaller size and detailed – you will need to get closer to appreciate every detail. That means that your artwork will look the best if it could get a bigger frame with a paper mat. A mat paper isn’t necessary, but most artworks such as prints, drawings — look best when there’s a space between the edge of the artwork and the frame. This will invite the viewer and drive attention. Beyond that, it makes the print appear more elegant and expensive.*All my artwork are designed to have a negative space to naturally give every artwork good composition and margins from frame even without matte paper.

Type of frames
There are two things worth considering while choosing frame itself: color, materials. The most common colors are black, white and the most common materials are wood, silver, gold, gesso. My artworks are black and white so they will behave well with any of the frames. There are three categories of frames: basic(black, white, silver) natural (plain wood, gesso), distinctive (gold, brushed silvers, worn wood).
Thinner edge (5-15mm)- more modern artwork will look.
Thicker the edge (15-30mm) – more solid, sturdy look.
Unframed look:
